2017 NFL Mock Draft – Round 1

  1. Cleveland- Myles Garrett DE Texas AM…Cleveland can take the best available player and still address their quarterback need later in the first round

  1. San Francisco- Mitch Trubisky QB North Carolina…The 49ers have a lot of work to do and 31 year old Brian Hoyer is not leading this team into the future

  1. Chicago- Jonathan Allen DT Alabama…Arguably the best player in the draft, the Bears will select possibly the safest pick in the draft

  1. Jacksonville- Leonard Fournette RB LSU…After signed Barry Church and A.J. Bouye to solidify the secondary, the Jags will add an electrifying running back

  1. Tennessee- Marshon Lattimore CB Ohio State…29th in passing yards allowed per game, the Titans take the best cover corner in the draft

  1. NY Jets- Deshaun Watson QB Clemson…Geno Smith is gone and the franchise needs a fresh face for fans to get behind

  1. LA Chargers- Jamal Adams S LSU …20th in passing yards allowed per game, the biggest defensive need is at safety and Adams is arguably a top 5 overall player

  1. Carolina- Dalvin Cook RB Florida State…Jonathan Stewart is getting older and the Panthers depth at running back is nothing special

  1. Cincinnati- Rueben Foster LB Alabama…The Bengals were slightly below average on defense and could pair Foster with Vontaze Burfict for a potentially run stuffing duo

  1. Buffalo- Solomon Thomas DE Stanford…The Bills will be fortunate if Thomas is around at this pick and would take the best player available on a team with many needs

  1. New Orleans- Malik Hooker S Ohio State…A defensive back must be added after finishing as one of the worst teams in passing yards allowed per game for two straight seasons

  1. Cleveland- DeShone Kizer QB Notre Dame…After taking Garrett first overall, the Browns address their biggest need on the offensive side unless they believe in Brock Osweiler long term

  1. Arizona- Patrick Mahomes QB Texas Tech…A quarterback will be drafted to learn under 37 year old Carson Palmer and lead the franchise very soon

  1. Philadelphia- Marlon Humphrey CB Alabama…The Eagles do not have a lock down corner and need a star to lead their defensive backfiel

  1. Indianapolis- Budda Baker S Washington…The Colts need help in all areas of defense and safety Mike Adams left for the Panthers

  1. Baltimore- John Ross WR Washington…Tied for last in yards per reception, the Ravens need to add an offensive playmaker to a group that is now without Steve Smith Sr. and Ross has 4.2 speed

  1. Washington- Corey Davis WR Western Michigan…After losing DeSean Jackson to the Bucs, the Redskins will try to add a wide receiver

  1. Tennessee- Mike Williams WR Clemson…Finishing 25th in passing yards, adding arguably the best receiver in the draft along with Marshon Lattimore would make the Titans day 1 winners

  1. Tampa Bay- O.J. Howard TE Alabama…Cameron Brate is the only serviceable tight end for the Bucs and they have addressed needs at running back and safety through free agency

  1. Denver- Taco Charlton DE Michigan…The Broncos finished 27th in rushing and the team lost OT Russell Okung, but signed OT Menelik Watson and have bigger needs at defensive line and tight end

  1. Detroit- Derek Barnett DE Tennessee…One fewer sack away from being last in the league, the Lions need to put more pressure on their opposition

  1. Miami- Takkarist McKinley OLB UCLA…The Dolphins need another playmaker at linebacker to pair with Kiko Alonso

  1. NY Giants- Cam Robinson OT Alabama…The Giants finished 29th in rushing and need help protecting Eli which the team isn’t sure Ereck Flowers can do

  1. Oakland- Gareon Conley CB Ohio State…24th in passing yards allowed per game and 24th overall defensively, the Raiders need additions to that side of the ball with the 24th pick

  1. Houston- Ryan Ramczyk OT Wisconsin…The Texans need help on the offensive side of the ball to take pressure off of the dominating defense

  1. Seattle- Garett Bolles OT Utah…With Ramczyk and Robinson gone, the Seahawks add a tackle to a group that lacks star power and consistency

  1. Kansas City- Zach Cunningham LB Vanderbilt…Derrick Johnson is 34 and the Chiefs need new playmakers at linebacker for their defense

  1. Dallas- Kevin King CB Washington…In free agency, the Cowboys lost a lot in a secondary that was torched by Green Bay in the playoffs

  1. Green Bay- T.J. Watt LB Wisconsin…The Packers were horrific in the secondary, but some of that can be blamed on injury, while the loss of Julius Peppers to Carolina must also be addressed

  1. Pittsburgh- Haason Reddick OLB Temple…The Steelers need more on defense to defeat the Patriots and adding an edge rusher will help

  1. Atlanta- Jabril Peppers S Michigan…The Falcons brought in Dontari Poe to help pressure the quarterback up front but now need to add a playmaker to one of the weakest pass defenses in the league

  1. New Orleans- Tre’Davious White CB LSU…After taking a safety earlier in the draft, the Saints will continue to strengthen the worst secondary in the league
